After looking into several makes and models we finally making decided to go with this unit in the Charcoal Finish, I am pleased with the choice.

1. The LCD Touch Screen is easily read and sensitive enough to the touch so you will not have to push with much effort at all.

2. The options the unit comes with allows you to choose what type of Dry Cycle you want or need. Including the amount of Dampness, or Dryness you want. For example Silks, Blankets, Wools, Mixed Garments all with its own cycle... They are pre-programmed in so no need to worry.

3. You are also able to adjust the Temperature as well as the cycle time.

4. The machine is not very quiet, BUT it is also NOT very loud. It is not as quiet as the washer is.

In fact comparing it to the previous Maytag which it replaced it is not louder at all. I would venture a guess that if I put a sound level meter to both machines, they are the same.

5. The machine has three options for venting. 1. Back (standard) or right or left side. The side vents will require an additional kit from General Electric which costs $14.99 and is very easy to install. Installation of the side vent kit took me about 15 minutes start to finish.

The machine once set will automatically sense the load which just came from the washer, and will determine the dry cycle which is best.

If the machine senses a fault it will state so on the LCD screen and you can self diagnose it by hold the "Back" and "Cycle" buttons down together for 3 seconds. After which the machine will tell you what the fault is, you can also clear the fault at this time unless it is a mechanical failure, which will require a technician.

The Lint Screen is located in the front of the unit at the bottom of the door.

The door opening is very wide allowing for even a queen size comforter to go in and out with ease.

The shoe rack (which is included with your dryer) is made of plastic and is very durable. If you mis-adjust the temperature on the dryer and set it to high the plastic will become soft. SO my advise is to allow the dryer to set up the proper heat limit for the items you are drying. Use the pre-programmed settings to avoid unwanted problems.
