General Electric DWSR483EBWW / DWSR483EBCC Dryer

Performance-wise this dryer is great. But inside the dryer around the doorframe (for want of a better explanation) there is a plastic lip. It goes all around the door opening. Twice now when I've thrown in wet clothes my thumb has banged into this lip. My thumbnail, both times, split past the quick down toward the middle of my nail. It is very painful and takes months to grow out. The first time I thought it might be me and I was very careful to make sure I was aiming away from the edge toward the middle of the dryer opening. But the second time has me angry. It is very painful and one just shouldn't get hurt while loading one's wet clothes in the dryer!
