Large Capacity but Noisy

We preferred the traditional top freezer arrangement and wanted the biggest capacity refrigerator we could find. The GE Profile fit those requirements. The top freezer style has more regular cooling space relative to freezer space than the side by side models. The GE PTS25 enables us to keep more fresh foods which fits our needs.

The door space, vegetable bins and meat drawer space are reasonable and convenient enough.

All the new refrigerators have overly complicated/bulky shelves and dividers with more ins and outs that are harder to clean but the GE Profile is no more so than other current models I looked at.

The biggest drawback is the noise. Under heavier use and/or warmer temperatures, the PTS25 makes an outrageous noise that drives you crazy if you have to stay in the kitchen with it. If you have guests, it's unacceptable. It can't be fixed. It has to do with a gas that changes pressure or something like that. It may last 5, 10 or 15 minutes at a time. It happened a lot in the summer and has happened less often since the temperatures have moderated.

Bottom line, capacity and usability are good. Noise is terrible.
