Not Happy With GE

I was enticed into buying this phone because it was corded, in case of power outages, and had two cordless handsets, which can be conveniently placed. Also it comes with a digital answering machine, speaker phone, caller ID. And the price I thought was reasonable. But I was really let down by the quality of this product. The speaker has to be adjusted up and down, depending on whether you are listening to messages, or using the speaker phone. Can hardly hear messages, while speaker phone is too loud. Caller ID does not keep track of each call made by a single person, but instead only shows the last call by them (even if they called 10 times that day).
Cordless handsets are very limited in range compared to other cordless sets that I've owned, go to far and you've lost your call. If those issues weren't bad enough, I had a bad battery in one handset, which GE (Thompson Inc.) refused to replace because they are not covered by warranty, mind you it was purchased with a bad battery.
I really do like the design, the hold and mute buttons on the base unit, the fact that you can use the corded phone for security and if you lose electricity. But, there are just too many quality issues.
