Very Good Buy On Front-Loader

I purchased this machine right off the floor at Home Depot for $438 + $59 delivery charge. This machine is Quiet and Efficient, product is reliable and ranks very good in Consumer Reports....amongst fewest repair history also.I'm not saying that a few people haven't gotten a lemon though, one lemon out of thousand is darn good to me.
In researching what type of washer to purchase ( top loader VS front loader )I did a lot of homework so I hope this helps somebody struggling with the decision in which to buy.

This machine is affordable, has a large steel tub capacity and many desirable wash settings. I like that the entire process isn't a circuit board of confusion and is pretty straight forward on wash selections even allows for a pause/cancel mode which will unlock the machine to let you throw in that forgotten towel. No problems with vibrations during the spin cycle, we actually followed instructions and leveled the machine before using it.

Just to hit the subject of wiping of the left over water from the window / seal or mildew smell some people complain about - - Front loading machines require an air tight seal thus a mildew smell will occur if water is not wiped off & allowed to evaporate,leave the door ajar when done washing for the day to nix this problem. It's really a non-issue, it's 5 seconds of your time to save some $$$ in water,gas,electric bill. You feel a little weird loading & unloading though you get used to it quickly but if you have back issues a pedestal would be beneficial to you.

Those are two issues I kept running into over & over again. In my opinion whether you spend $500 or $1500 on a front loader your still going to deal with water evaporation (mildew smell/wiping off seal) because they all require airtight seals to operate & they all load and unload exactly the same way (bending). Unless you truly need a elaborate $1500 cherry red washing machine that plays "Hail to the Chief" this one works just fine & the price is right.
