The Game of Life on CD Rom is awesome!
It's easy for the whole family to sit around the computer and play this game. Much like the board game, but for my family it's much more fun to play.
You can choose to play the classic board game or the enhanced version. In the classic version things pretty well go as they do in the board game. Of course you get some great graphics with each turn. You can choose to turn off the graphics if they get to be a little bit much for you. The game lasts longer with the graphics on as there is a different type of cartoon for each space that is landed on.
In the enhanced version play is basically the same but they throw in extras. You get extra ways of making money by playing games of life. There are 8 of these extra games where you can walk away with up to $100,000 or nothing at all.
I like the way that you are able to choose your occupation, but you don't make a set amount like you do in the board game version. You get to click on a cash register and you take what you get. Don't worry if you end up low, there is always that chance later in the game to take revenge. When you take revenge, instead of taking the $100,000 from a player you can trade them salaries.
As I said, my entire family just loves playing this game.
I'm not sure if it's only the CD that I have, or this happens with all of them, but we quickly learned to save our game after about 5 turns. The game will freeze up otherwise. The first time it happened I was really kicking butt and winning. Boy was I hot!! I'm not sure how many turns we can get by with without saving and then resuming the game, but we take no chances on losing the game. If we have it saved and then forget to save again at least we don't lose our entire game.
I am very glad that we chose to purchase this CD Rom game. We've owned it now for 2 years.
