Exercise your brain with Games Magazine (HH writeoff)

Date of Review:  Jul 22, 2001
The Bottom Line: Highly recommended for puzzle fans
Review: I've been enjoying Games Magazine for about 20 years, and it's still one of my favourites. Games Magazine is such a pleasure because it covers a variety of gaming topics.

The fun starts with the front page. It's always a visual puzzle, not...

Review: Games Magazine is exactly what you'd expect to see in a publication of that title, GAMES from cover to cover. I used to subscribe to this magazine years ago. After a while, I had a change of sorts, and found I preferred a publication devoted solely...

Stop Playing Games?

Date of Review:  Jan 8, 2001
Review: With all of the other puzzle books out there, I find that ?GAMES? just does not measure up. I prefer Dell Puzzle Books for both quality and price.

At $ 3.50 per issue, GAMES is a smaller magazine than most of the other puzzle books I buy...

Games from Cover to Cover

Date of Review:  Jan 2, 2001
Review: Games. Simple enough name for a magazine, and this one delivers. The front cover is always some sort of game - Can you spot this? A maze? It varies. The game on the cover is always fun. Not bad considering you haven't even opened the magazine...

Games Magazine Plays Games with Its Audience

Date of Review:  Mar 16, 2009
The Bottom Line: It's hard to figure out the target audience for Games Magazine in this incarnation.
Review: I never liked Games Magazine very much, but I decided to give it another try after a several year break when I discovered it had been purchased by Kappa Magazines. I've enjoyed several Kappa puzzle magazines and figured that their oversight might...

Review: How do I love this magazine, let me count the ways. Seriously though, this magazine is overflowing with puzzles, mind-teasers, stories, game advice, trivia and much much more. Although this may sound like a plug for GAMES I fully believe that these...

Calisthenics For Your Brain

Date of Review:  Feb 1, 2001
The Bottom Line: A magazine for people who want a higher level of puzzles and games and for those who like the unusual in puzzles and games.
Review: Games magazine touts itself as a magazine, "for puzzle lovers." And filled with puzzles it is. In each issue you'll find standard crossword puzzles and unique variations of crossword puzzles. Sometimes these are multiple step puzzles, where the...

Review: My husband and I really enjoy this magazine. It has a great variety of puzzles from extremely easy to extremely hard. I prefer puzzles to be relaxing and not stress my mind. I use them as a form of relaxation...not something to make me think too...

GAMES - Not what it used to be.
