Author's Review
Gangsters is a strategy game where you control a gang of ever expanding thugs in the prohibition-1930's era. You kill, rob, extort, kidnap, bomb and every other imaginable organized crime task to earn money, gain territory, and make everyone shake in their boots when they hear your name!
The goal of the game is to either eliminate every other gang in the city, become mayor, or get a huge amount of money and assets. The game's graphics are quite amazing and very realistic. The music is quite nice and for once I can say I don't get annoyed by it! The sound effects though can become very annoying and more than once I have turned the volume w-a-y down.
The game is very strategic-based and if you are not at least a small strategy fan, you will probably put this game on the shelf two hours after you buy it. The game also has a nice multi-player mode that is just fantastic, but if you don't have a moderately fast computer I would not recommend it. The game has quite a bit of blood in it and the game is so complex that if you have bought it for a young person, bring it back!
The difficulty of the game is quite high and it takes a while to get the hang of the controls and all the options you can make use of. If you are a strategy fan though and have an ache for some Al Capone living, this is the game for you.
