Tiny genius knows it all

Date of Review:  Apr 19, 2006
The Bottom Line: I would recommend Garmin i3 to anybody who is looking for more than a basic GPS for under $300.00
Review: Have been looking for a GPS for a long time, not because I miss exits too often, but only to pile up on my gadgets. Had been monitoring the technology advancements and prices on these units for years and finally locked my choice on Garmin i3 when I...

Great blend of function and affordability

Date of Review:  Oct 29, 2006
The Bottom Line: I would recommend this for anyone who needs a very portable in-car navigation system. It delivers all the basic features, works well, and it's compact and simple to use.
Review: Why I got it

I purchased this before heading off on a 10-day driving vacation; I selected this particular model after reading a lot of good reviews and seeing that I could get it for less than $300.

A GPS that fits your budget and your pocket!

Date of Review:  Feb 9, 2006
The Bottom Line: I would definitely recommend buying this unit (possibly one for each of your cars) to ensure you do not get lost!
Review: The Garmin StreetPilot i3 is one of three in this mini-series by the respected GPS manufacturer.

It is very similar to both the i2 and the i5. The i2 is a, less expensive, monochromatic version. The i5 is a, more expensive, version with...

No frills but good bang for the buck

Date of Review:  Jul 26, 2006
The Bottom Line: Very good value and very useful tool!
Review: I wanted a GPS for the car but I think they are a bit overpriced. This one popped up and the ONLY reason that I even looked at it was the price.

I have to say that I didn't think I'd find this unit very usable. I was worried about the...

Compact basic GPS lacks performance

Date of Review:  Apr 8, 2007
The Bottom Line: It can be a fine "entry level" GPS given the current price level, but useful only if you do all planning before hand. I won't recommend it for daily use.
Review: The purchase

This is our second attempt to acquire an automotive GPS system. We went from rather expensive (see previous review here) to bottom cheap. Costco.com had Garmin StreetPilot i3 (hereafter SP i3) on sale for $225 plus free ground...

How not to get lost... Well... most of the time!

Date of Review:  Dec 12, 2005
The Bottom Line: I can recommend this unit on price alone. It is so much cheaper than any other unit I have looked at.
Review: I have only once before used a GPS navigation system, and that was a simple "turn left here, turn right here" system in a Toyota. That particular system took me, rather imaginatively through a multi-storey car-park, whilst trying to get me to a...

A Good Little GPS

Date of Review:  Mar 28, 2006
The Bottom Line: Few units in this price range will include voice prompting and 128mb map/data capacity. Some might not like the small screen, I prefer it.
Review: The Garmin StreetPilot i3 is a color version of the i2. This unit features Voice Prompting. I feel that this is a must have. While some units may have "alerts" having actual voice prompting gives you a better idea of what's ahead and not have to...

Get lost mapquest

Date of Review:  Nov 22, 2006
The Bottom Line: A great little GPS. It will get you where you want to go.
Review: I'm in sales.
I always dreaded downloading to my PDA (or printing out)driving instructions to my appointments from the likes of Mapquest. In doing so I drove the accident possiblity percentages sharply higher trying to keep one eye on the road...

Garmin- a great GPS, with a few small problems

Date of Review:  Jan 22, 2007
The Bottom Line: If you just want to take a few trips, this is excellent, If you travel for a living get the more expensive version of Garmin GPS.
Review: Have you ever gotten in the car and had the urge to just drive ? Have you ever been low on gas in an unfamiliar part of town? Do you know someone with a bad sense of direction ? Than a GPS system might just be for you.

I bought this GPS to...

Nice, affordable GPS

Date of Review:  May 21, 2006
The Bottom Line: I'd buy another. Small enough to hide in the center console or under the seat when not using it.
Review: My wife is directionally challenged and not a very confident navigator. The i3 has changed that! I chose the i3 based on it's reviews and it's price. I like the color screen, night mode (it automatically dims the screen and uses darker colors to...
