2.72 Ounces of Amazing

Date of Review:  Sep 6, 2007
The Bottom Line: If you run or are interested in running the Forerunner 305 can help you analyze your workout to achieve your best performance.
Review: About Me
I'm a 28 year old male that has been running off and on the last 8 years. I run between 12 and 25 miles a week from spring to early winter. I fall off the bandwagon quite frequently but overall I enjoy running. I also lift weights and...

Wanna feel like a pro in training? Then Garmin Forerunner 305 is your tool

Date of Review:  Sep 20, 2006
The Bottom Line: A tool that could rekindle your desire for working out and maybe more. Many features and an amazing software will make you feel like a pro in training.
Review: My Background. I have been using GPS tools for a while and I have used them regularly in my training for at least 2 years. My favorite sport activities are inline skating (speedskating, more properly) and downhill skiing. Before purchasing the...

Good on bike rides

Date of Review:  Feb 23, 2009
Review: I purchased the Forerunner 305 as a replacement for the eTrex, Forerunner 101 and 301, which fell apart from heavy use. I routinely use it during my nightly commute. I use the Auto Lap feature regularly, the Heart Rate Monitor often, and often burn...

Disappointed

Date of Review:  Nov 4, 2007
The Bottom Line: Avoid this product unless your willing to buy the upgrades.
Review: First of all - whoever designed their website didn't have the user in mind and whoever approved and accepted the design should be fired. The website is frustrating and difficult to move around or to get information.

2nd: The documentation...

Forerunner 305 great outdoor/sports watch!

Date of Review:  Oct 28, 2008
The Bottom Line: This is the clear leader in Sports Watch products, combining HRM and GPS (distance and altitude).
Review: I decided to upgrade from my Timex Ironman Bodylink setup, although I only had the Timex HRM thus far. Ironically, the Timex Bodylink setup including the HRM, GPS, and Recorder: would have cost more than the Garmin 305!

The 305's HRM is...

Know Yourself

Date of Review:  Jun 25, 2007
The Bottom Line: You won't find anything out there like it.
Review: I had to do an extreme challenge and hike 35 miles for a charity in which I did absolutely no training. I purchased the Garmin 305 to help me better understand my heart rates and to basically feed me input as I did the hike. The Garmin 305 allows...

Major problems

Date of Review:  Oct 2, 2006
The Bottom Line: I wouldn't buy another Garmin product. Rush product to market- make profit. END
Review: I purchased a Garmin Forerunner 305 about two months ago, and while I really liked the idea of having the GPS and HRM and tracking data, my experience with Garmin and this particular product has not been good.

When I first got it, I...

No water-resistant

Date of Review:  Jun 25, 2006
Review: After a little swim in the lake of Como (Italy) water came inside the receiver under the glass. This happened after 12 minutes of activity.

Fulfills the Promise

Date of Review:  Dec 20, 2008
The Bottom Line: Other than shoes, the 305 is the best running accessory that I'm aware of. Garmin corrects the many flaws of the 301.
Review: I purchased the previous iteration (the 301) of Garmin's GPS/Heartrate monitor and was terribly disappointed. Tempted by good reviews, I purchased the 305 from Costco for $159.00.

The Verdict: The 305 actually DOES what the 301 was...
