Finally I'm not lost driving somewhere new!

After receiving the Garmin nuvi 200W as a present, I was somewhat reluctant. I never had used a GPS before so I did not know what to expect. When I opened the box, it came with a windshield mount, basic instructions, & a vehicle charging cable, basically what I expected. When I first turned it on, it seemed like it needed to download some things before it would work, but it wasn't that big of a hassle and only took around 20 minutes to get it up and running.

The interface of the Garmin nuvi was very easy to navigate through, even though I've never used a GPS before. The touch screen makes entering information very simple and pretty much avoids any problems that I could have imagined.

After seeing me use the GPS unit, my parents decided to purchase one for themselves, thus showing the benefit to people that are truly bad at navigating where they go (or travel a lot). I believe that it cost 199 when it was purchased for me, but can probably be found cheaper now.

A few positives that I people might not be aware of compared to other products are its wide screen, which makes it easier to look at the directions, the sound for the directions is loud enough to hear even with my music playing loudly, if I miss a turn when I'm driving somewhere, the unit updates very quickly with a new set of directions for me. In addition, it allows me to set various things I want to avoid, such as highways or even certain roads that I know are busy during rush hour. Also, just in terms of the number of items listed as points of interest, the Garmin seems to have almost everything I ever type, which makes directions incredibly easy.

Basically, the Garmin has everything I could have imagined with a GPS unit and is manageable in terms of price as well. I would definitely recommend it to my friends (seeing as how my family already decided to purchase another one for themselves)
