Product Review

Not very good

by   dennisma ,   Feb 16, 2004

Pros:  Small, neck strap, light

Cons:  Terrible terrible terrible button interface. Batteries die for no reason. FM is nonexistent.

The Bottom Line:  I think there are better players out there. SHop around and don't let someone buy it for you.

Overall Rating: 1/5 stars

Author's Review

I received one for Christmas and so far not too impressed. The main button toggle does not work well (no it is not me...). A single button controls power, pause/play, fwd/rev track, and the volume. Sometimes when I want it to go to the next track it will pause instead and sometimes the opposite occurs. Also to power off I must hold down the button for 5 seconds. Often this takes several attempts because it "thinks" I am trying to pause the music.

The FM radio is well... not very receptive. I would say I do not even bother to use it at all. I think you have to be pretty close to the transmitter to get a real signal.

One other annoying thing is if someone or something bumps it... I mean a slight bump... it turns on. And though it is supposed to turn off after inactive use... I am not sure what happens. All I do know is the battery is dead. The work around for this is when it is off to turn the "hold" button on so that even if bumps on it will not turn on.

I really hate this thing and wish my wife would stick to buying me neckties for Christmas...

Update: The main button I complained about doesn't skip to the next or previous song any more.
