Beyond Cosmo….way beyond…..

I was putzing around the pharmacy last month looking for a new magazine to sink my teeth into since I had read the one I had a subscription to. That was where I discovered the wonderful magazine that is Glamour. I read some of the other reviews and most of you have an unkind comment to my beloved Glamour. Of course, most of these comments are 5 years old… the magazine has changed for the better since then and includes many excellent articles such as a relationship article in the July 2004 issue Love without… which were essays from experienced writers about their relationship hardships such living in a studio apartment in New York City, an arranged marriage, married life w/o kids and living as a couple in the country w/o civilization. This is a very witty magazine that understands that most of the women that read it aren’t brain-dead fashion victims that buy all the new makeup gadgets and outrageous colors. All the style tips are written to make you look classic and never overdone. In the August issue, they had a fantastic fashion feature about how to find your perfect jeans which really helped me a lot. Like, certain pocket sizes make your butt look HUGE while others enhance its shape. Flared cuts are way more flattering than tapered….. in other words NO mommy jeans.

This magazine doesn’t really cover celebrities apart from the exceptional interview with the cover girl. There are celebrities on the cover but the interview is usually about a page in length and that’s all for the celebrity coverage. If you’re more into celebrities, than look into Star, People or Us. They have the occasional ‘Wow him in bed’ article but they provide a good laugh b/c what these men expect from any woman is really funny. Usually though, their advice is pretty sound and interesting.

This magazine comes out monthly and costs about 3.50$ an issue which is well worth it but the subscription is a much better price 12 issues for 12 $!!
I’m telling you to BUY THIS MAGAZINE!!!
