Author's Review
When I was about 17, I realized that it was time to stop reading 'Teen' and 'YM' and start reading 'woman's' magazines. I started buying one at the store every month, but after a few months, realized that it was getting quite expensive (around $3-$4 a piece). So I subscribed. Back then, it was $11, but I think it's around $16 now. Still, not too bad, if, like me, you like to rip stuff out and save it. Otherwise, read it at the library. But READ IT! It has a wonderful mix of info about health, sex, food, jobs, etc. And it doesn't have too much fashion stuff in there. I always hated opening up a magazine such as Vogue, because, other than the 75% advertisements, 90% of the rest was clothes. Who buys those clothes anyway?!? Certainly no one I know. Glamour usually has about 10-20 pages devoted exclusively to fashion, as well as some thrown in here and there with makeup and other things.
Yes, it has quite a few ads, but what magazine doesn't, these days? This one doesn't have any more than the average, but these ads are some of the best--lots of times they contain little cards with lipstick or eyeshadow samples--fun, fun, fun!! Overall, a great woman's magazine!
