Having driven the 2006 GMC Envoy for a little over a year now, I can appreciate everything it offers. Starting with the exterior, the car is beautiful. My Envoy features the Cranberry Red Metallic paint. In my honest opinion, this is the most beautiful color when clean. With a deep cleaning and a coat of wax applied, this car turns heads with its shine. The accents of the exterior such as the chrome strip, chrome ENVOY lettering, and chrome grill and polished silver 18" rims truly set off this exterior.
Next, the interior. My Enovy contains cloth interior in the color of Ebony. This is a mixture of a deep black with shades of grey. The interior is very sleek and almost "mysterious" looking. The patterns used in the plastic really set off the entire interior.
The Enovy is a very roomy truck. The front seats are standard bucket seats with a standard 65/35 bench seat in back. These seats lift up and fold down for extra trunk space which can be very useful. All of these features lead to a comfortable truck that can be used for very long drives.
The Envoy features a V-6 Vortec 4200 engine and can be upgraded to the V-8. This engine is extremely powerful and can tear up the black top(or mud if you are an off-roader!)It has helped me in many situations such as snow, off road, and towing the family's boat.
The Envoy's handling system is short of amazing. When someone things of an SUV, the first thought is a brick on wheels. Well, that is false with this SUV. It features a Stabili-Track function that will distribute power to a tire as need be. This can help when one is maybe half on ice and accelerating. the ice tires will not spin as much as the other tires. This will create a more stable handling function.
The ride is smooth with this car. It tends to ride smooth especially with the new Stabili-Track system. Since this SUV is slapped with the new Goodyear Fortera HL tires, the ride is nothing short of beautiful.
Last, but not least, are the features. Having a basic Envoy, the features are not as advanced as the upgraded model, yet I am still overly impressed with them. The sound system is very nice, yet lacks a little bass. The CD player is decent but can skip slightly over time. The driver seat has a mechanical adjuster while the passenger seat has a manual. The climate control is a very good although while driving this truck in winter can be cold as it takes awhile to warm up. The back seat features a seprate climate control and radio which can offer everyone something to listen to regardless of what they may enjoy.
Overall, the 2006 GMC Envoy is a great truck that I love. It has been great one of my favorite trucks.
