Pack n Play Saves the Day

When I bought this item I planned to use only the bassinet feature in my room when the baby was newborn. We did that and when he got heavier than the bassinet's weight limit we still weren't ready to move him out of our room so we put him in the bottom of the Pack n Play. This was hard on our back though because it sits so close to the floor and when the baby is asleep you want to put him down as gently as possible. We also were concerned that it wasn't enough back support for the baby for such a long period so we moved the crib in our room.

But, we still found many more uses for the Pack n Play. Of course, there's the obvious use when you travel or picnic. But the greatest use for me was keeping it in our bathroom. That way when home alone with the baby I could put him in the Pack n Play and do my "business" knowing he was safe and in view. Especially once he reached the crawling and walking stage.

The wheels are nice when moving it from room to room. The pad fits perfectly in the bottom and the two velcro tabs work well to keep it in place. The fabric is easy to clean with a damp cloth. However, even with mesh on all sides it still was a hot fabric that would instigate a sweat when used in warm areas like outside. Another problem with the fabric was that it didn't withstand my son's chewing on the top rail. The fabric frayed and tore a bit.

When I initially unpacked the item I wasn't sure I'd ever get it back in the storage bag. But, each time I packed it I was amazed at the ease of folding, storing, and carrying.
