Booster Seat For Klutzy Grandparents
Date of Review: Feb 10, 2009
The Bottom Line: An exceptionally good buy in a very over-priced sector of our economy.
Alright all you young folks out there, make sure to hit "The Grandparents" up for these if they want to take the kids for a ride. When it's time for my grandkids to go cruisin' they are doing it in style. Here's why I recommend this particular model.
For openers, Graco has a great name, and it is a well deserved one as far as car seats go. They are, durable, flexible, and most importantly, they have garnered excellent safety ratings. Oh yeah!....they're reasonably priced too! Usually stuff for kids and infants strikes me as if it's all been gold-plated, and re-inflated just because the makers know that parents, and us grand parents--will pay up to keep our young ones safe.
This little puppy is versatile because it'll hold your little puppies that come in sizes anywhere from 38-57" tall. That's a wide range to work with, and since my two grandsons are basically bruisers for their age, we were certainly glad to find these. Once they get up above 40 lbs...these things can also operate as backless boosters. They are exceptionally well padded, and my daughter in law is grateful that they are so easy to clean. They have great headrests, so no whiplash worries, and the cushions all around provide for a comfortable ride when it's time to roll. If worse comes to worse, these things are so plushly cushioned all the way around, that you can feel good about it. It' s not exactly a roll cage, but it's about as good as a booster seat gets.
If this Klutzty left handed grandpa can assemble one--correctly I might add--- in less than 15 minutes w/just a screwdriver--trust me--there are no excuses for anyone reading this. That even includes the time it took for me to be anal about the headrest adjustment. The extra bonus for me was that when attaching the kids, all you have to do is slide the seat belt through the convenient seat belt guides (one on either side) and around the kid, and into the buckle. No rocket science needed!
Overall this thing just can't be beat for the price. Even the armrests are a great feature as they are padded, retractable, and it also features both cup and snack holders. Your kids'll feel like they're blastin' around town in Captain's Chairs. Better yet--your parents can actually put it together and understand it. (This is a lean and Mean Entry)
