I have used this printer for documents from several programs and photo printing on regular and photo papers. I have had none of the problems mentioned in previous reviews. Good quality printing has been my experience. I do agree that outsourcing by manufacturers has led to a decline in quality and customer service. I was fortunate that I have not had any negative experience with this particular product.
