Author's Review

I wanted to find a printer that I can be used for everyday printing but also print great photos on.

I did some research on line at different web sites and went to Best Buy and Staples to see the printers in person. It is hard to pick something if you can not physically touch, see and feel it. I really like the HP D7460 after seeing it in the store and wanted to shop around for a good price.

I happened to hit a good deal on Amazon and picked up this printer for $45 with free shipping. It originally said shipping time would be almost two weeks so I was amazed that my printer showed up 3 days later.

I unpacked and proceeded to set this machine up. I followed the quick set up guide, installed all inks and started the disk in my computer. I had everything done in about 5 minutes.

I am really impressed with how quick and easy this was to set up. It has so many great features I can not believe what a great deal I got.

Some of the tech features of the printer are:

3.5" LCD touch screen display

Up to 34 ppm Black & Up to 33 ppm Color

Up to 1200 x 1200 DPI Black/ Up to 4800 x 1200 Optimized DPI Color Using 1200 x 1200 Input DPI

64 MB Standard Storage Memory

6 different HP Vivera inks

Red eye removal on your pictures using the touch screen

Two trays for small photo paper and regular 8.5" x 11 paper

It has several different media card slots built in to the front of the printer so you can use whatever card you happen to have.

It can print borderless photos and best of all it is wireless!

I have mine set up with my wireless router and can print off my desk top or laptop without any problems.

Now as far as printing I think the photo quality is very good. It is almost as good as going to Wal-greens and picking them up. It is very easy to slid my SD card into the slot, pick the photo I want and make any adjustments needed and print.

Regular printing is a breeze and really the only thing I can think of it sometimes it feeds two sheets of paper but I think it is because my paper is old. I will buy a new ream of paper and then I think that problem will be fixed.

When you turn the printer on it does go through its little warm up process and makes some noise but I usually turn it on and walk away so it does not bother me.

It came with some HP 4x6 Photo paper and that is the only kind I have used in it so far. Some other reviews said to only use the HP photo paper but as soon as I run out of the other I will probably try some other brand to see how it works.
