Laugh and Laugh Some More

It's been a while since this movie came out, 10 years, but it's some of the best family entertainment I've seen in a long while. I just watched it again and it was as enjoyable as it was back then.

Plot Overview
A 8 year old Kevin McCallister (Macaulay Culkin) has found himself at home over Christmas without his family. His family is on vacation without him and doesn't realize he's not there until they are well on their way to Paris. Kevin has to learn to be the man of the house and it's not easy because his home is being cased by two bumbling crooks who think he and the house are easy marks for a holiday looting.

Things don't go quite as the crooks (Joe Pesci and Daniel Stern) plan and breaking into the house is a little more difficult that they can imagine. At every turn their efforts are thwarted by Kevin and his imagination. I would be proud to have my some protect my belongings with such enthusiasm and Kevin does his.

Supporting Cast
There are some other well known faces in this file. The late John Candy plays the "Polka King of the Midwest". Kevin parents are played by Cathrine O'Hara (Beetlejuice) and John Heard.

Overall
This movie is worth buying for your collection. I have watched it many times and will probably watch it again sometime soon. One thing I would recommend is to make sure, if your small children will be watching it, to let them know that this is just a movie and they should never try and do things like this around the house. It's only a movie.
