Hoover Steam cleaner works great!

I purchased the Hoover steamvac about 4 months ago. We have 3 little kids who are constantly dragging in dirt and spilling drinks. I think it works great. The key is to push it very slowly and pull it very slowly. I recommend purchasing the steam cleaner pretreater (Wal-Mart has a brand) to spray on heavily soiled areas approximately 10 minutes before steamcleaning.

It dries very fast. When we clean our living room, we turn the ceiling fan on and it dries within a couple of hours; however it's best to let it dry overnight and don't let anyone walk on it.

I clean my carpets about once a month. It is easy to fill and very easy to use. Steam cleaner premixes are a little pricey and I don't like to use the chemicals on the carpet since we have a crawling baby, so I use vinegar instead and it works just as well.

The only thing that I can say that I don't like about it is in the section where the water goes, it has a little compartment on top that I cannot find a way to take off and clean. It's looking a little dirty.
(Update: I put this top section in the diswasher the other day and although it didn't come 100% clean it sure looks a lot better!)

I use it to clean my furniture, our car and van carpet and seats, curtains, etc.
