An outstanding fan in every respect

We discovered this fan in Bed, Bath, and Beyond, and were taken both by its appearance (we have an antique house, where it looks thoroughly at home) and the smooth and powerful functioning of the display model. We were so please with the first one we bought that, only days later, we returned to purchase a second. It is a heavy, solidly built, and sleek-appearing fan that is about as quiet as an electric fan can be. It oscillates over a greater range than our old plastic fans, and seems to push a greater volume of air. It will doubtless last longer, too, making it an economical fan in the long run. A couple of reviewers on other sites have complained about clicking or other noises, though one recanted after success in contacting customer service at Hunter. The first of our fans did groan slightly when it reversed direction in the oscillating setting and it was tilted fully back, but that soon stopped as mysteriously as it started. These fans make our plastic ones look cheap and clunky by comparison. I should also note that the fan comes with a grounded, three-prong plug, a highly desirable safety feature absent from our plastic fans. The plug is shipped, by the way, with a plastic protector, and a packet of desiccant was tucked in as well, suggesting the care with which this fan was manufactured and packaged. We're keeping the sturdy boxes for storing the fans in the winter. We highly recommend this fan, in sum.
