Pros: It works and works and works and requires no batteries!
Cons: No good way to attach a wrist strap.
The Bottom Line: It'll do the job, seems sturdy, and you don't have to worry with batteries. Why don't you have one already?

Review: Many years ago, I decided to take a solo weekend retreat on a nearby California mountain top. For the most part, I slept during much of the day and did my mental purging (no drugs, please!) at night. All the light I needed in the evenings was...

Pros: No bulbs or batteries needed. Two levels of brightness. Portable.
Cons: None.
The Bottom Line: No worries about batteries or bulbs dying with the Illuminator Flashlight ! You'll get 12 hours of use out of this product, and it can be stored anywhere.

Pros: Small, attractive, no batteries, no shaking. You can pretend it's a phaser.
Cons: Brightness not as constant as a flashlight with regular batteries. Requires winding. Possible short lifespan.
The Bottom Line: A windup flashlight means you never have to deal with dead or leaky batteries--but I'm not sure if they will still work if put aside for months/years.

Review: (8/7/08 UPDATE: Sad to say, we've had to retire our Illuminators. They worked great at first and for awhile, but we put them aside for many, many months and when we recently tried to use a few of them, we found that they--and the DuraPros--didn't...

Pros: Light weight, good illumination, convenient size, good grip, various colors -silver with black, red, blue.
Cons: Odd shape, no wrist strap, no case. May not be water-resistant.
The Bottom Line: I like the Illuminator and would recommend it based on its performance so far.

Review: The other day, I bought one of the Illuminator crank flashlights and it seems to work well, at least so far. It gives plenty of light on the higher setting, and the low setting provides useful light, at least for close objects (say, less than 6 feet...
