Purchased new, no regrets

I bought my '00 Amigo (loaded) in July 2000 after learning that Isusu was retiring the "Amigo" moniker in favor of "Rodeo Sport." The Consumer Reports editors sniffed that this was an "old style" chassis and lacked the sophistication of contemporary SUVs. (This must've meant they failed to flip one over?)

This Amigo is my third "compact" SUV and certainly the best built of them all (Chevy S-10, Suzuki). Mileage is acceptable, towing easy, and maintenance practically carefree. Beyond the scheduled timing belt replacement this car's never been in the shop! I contribute regular maintenance and and EGR system cleanout.

Next I'll try the Axiom (now scheduled to cease production) and remain an Isuzu customer.
