I purchased the JVC TD-W354 to make cassette recordings for my hypnotherapy clients. I needed a deck with microphone input, and reasonably good sound quality. I got that and a lot more with this deck. It has proven to be capable of producing tapes with very little, if any noise that could prove distracting. This is very important in my work. It is great for making quick copies with high speed dubbing. And there is no audible distortion of any kind introduced by the high speed, or standard dubbing.

The mixing capabilities make it easy to add music. The pitch control allows me to use advanced relaxation techniques of slowing the music slightly when I want to induce relaxation, or speed up the vocals to compress more content onto a tape. The auto indexing allows me to find specific parts of a recording easily for editing. The auto calibration gives me superior results from standard tapes, which saves me considerable expense. I'm even able to use "Normal" tapes for non critical music recording, with very good results.

I highly recomend this deck to anyone. For the reasonable price of this deck, you get features and quality of decks costing far more!
