Product Review

The Perfect Crib For Ashleigh.

by   ashleighs_mom ,   Aug 11, 2002

Pros:  Inexpensive adorable crib.

Cons:  Can not be converted to another piece of furniture when child grows out of crib.

The Bottom Line:  A wonderful crib for parents looking to purchase an inexpensive and dependable crib. The appearance is very nice and meets all safety requirements

Overall Rating: 5/5 stars

When I first found out I was pregnant I immediately planned my new baby's nursery. I had so many ideas but being a newly married young couple my husband and I didn't have the money to buy everything we wanted. We had to shop wise to make the room just how I imagined it. The first thing we purchased for our daughter was her crib. We looked around several stores and where a little shocked to see some cribs priced at about $500. Sure these cribs had a lot to offer like converting into a toddler bed when she would outgrow her crib and lots of storage with cute little drawer space but not everyone wants or can spend that kind of cash on a crib. We where at Wal-Mart one day and saw several inexpensive cribs and where pleased with the look and price of these cribs. The crib we decided to purchase was the Evenflo Jenny Lind Crib. The price of our crib was $99. Cha-ching, we found the "one."

I am very happy with the quality of this crib. It does not have the appearance of being "cheap." The finish of our crib is a light honey colored wood. A white-wash finish is also available. The crib is very sturdy and safe. Some safety features are the easy sliding adjustable rails with a safety lock that keeps the rail in place at a high or lowered position. The mattress can also be adjusted to a high and low position. The side rails are covered by a teething guard to protect your child if he/she has a chewing habit and it will help keep the crib in good shape through the chew habit period. The crib also has easy gliding wheels at the bottom that help for moving it around the room 100 different times finding the "right" home for it.

The installation for this crib seemed easy. I cant say I helped put it together because I laid comfortably on the floor and watched my husband put the thing together. However, there seemed to be no trouble in the directions and it went together with ease in a matter of a half hour or so. It came with all the necessary screws and a little tool but my husband did need to get out his own tools, he is not into the free stuff. I do think if necessary you can get away with using the free tool though.

In conclusion I would definitely recommend this crib. The price is right if you are looking for a good looking, safe, dependable, inexpensive crib for your baby.
