Not for Vista

Date of Review: Jul 4, 2007

I bought the KWorld DVD Maker USB2.0 for 39.95 at Fry's. After spending two days downloading patches , new drivers, etc. it still doesn't work well under Vista Home Premium(but then again what does?)I still can't plug in my analog 8mm camcorder and transfer my home movies to AVI files. I have managed to get it to create .wmv files but the quality is so poor it is almost unwatchable. The two software packages that come with it, PVR and Ulead's Movie Factory 4 don't work at all under Vista Home Premium and uLead expects you to purchase their version 6.0 (the free trial version 6.0 I couldn't get to run under Vista either) PVR doesn't recognize the video USB adapter and even the mighty Vista Media Center doesn't recognize it. I should have stuck with my old XP machine, as bad as it was at least some software worked on it.
