Great Chopper

I bought the KFC3100 a little over a month ago. It is simply a great unit. I only need something for making small amounts of sauces, salsas, marinades etc. It operates wonderfully and cleans up easily. I like how the food is drawn in and down through the blades. The holes on top of the lid are expertly made. The small hole is for dripping liquids into your mixture and the larger cutout is for adding dry ingredients.

The part that really sold me was the safety lock. I purchased a similar sized unit from black and decker a few years ago and their safety lock broke after only a few uses. Virtually all the small choppers (except for the KCF3100) use the same type of crappy safety lock. The KFC 3100 uses a safety lock similar to more expensive food processors. Is this better? I'm not sure. I will assume it is.

I did read the other reviewers comments on the noise. I didn't notice excessive noise. It seemed to be average expected amount of noise to me. All electrical appliances are going to make noise.

The recipes in the back of the manual are pretty good too. I made mayonnaise, chicken salad and salsa.

I would have rated this unit a 5 straight across. However, you would not want your young kids to use or clean this. The blades are very sharp.
