Author's Review
I am a Kodak child!
My father was a freelance photographer, so the brand name of Kodak is like a long lost cousin to me. Before the days of digital cameras, I always used the Kodak brand throw away cameras, because I can always trust their products. They are the top of the line in everything, from cameras to digital frames, and now, PRINTERS!!! I love printing, copying and scanning, so to be able to pack my mountains of computer equipment away to make room for this gem is a great solution to clutter as well!
Much like all of my electronic devices, I have been through at least 5 printers since the year 2000. Some because they broke, others because I upgraded the computer and it was not compatible. With Kodak's Easyshare, no more worries about buying a printer I don't want just to fit my computer system! This printer has a copier, a scanner, and is Bluetooth compatibility without being hooked up to a PC for wireless photo sharing. You can print from cell phones and iphones, PDAs, etc.
This brand new, in the lime light invention has two cartridges, and has a 6 ink system that uses 50% less ink than any other printer in the world! You may have seen it on Celebrity Apprentice with Donald Trump. It is amazing! With 3,840 nozzles for extremely beautiful, vivid, replicated copies of your photos, or prints off the internet. If you are not hooked up to a PC, you can connect through wireless means, which makes it easier to work with because you are not enslaved to a desk in your home office. The pictures are bold in color and dramatic in black and white, and the prints do not fade or blur. It has the scanner and LCD panel on the top so that you can watch it print before it prints!
What I love the most is that you are not constantly running out to Staples or Best Buy to replace printing ink, because this visionary machine is conservative, and does not cut corners in quality to do so. It can print from memory cards and is compatible with Pictbridge cameras. It has a cd-rom drive, a USB port and a 100 sheet 8 1/2" X 11.7" tray and a smaller 4 x6 photo tray that can hold about 20 sheets for reprinting pictures with photo paper. Unlike other models, I have had NO jams with this, and that in itself is worth every penny!
It is super fast, unlike the printers of my past. It will zoom out 32 pages per minute in the black and white, and 30 pages per minute in color. It does not lag, or make a lot of noise, and shake the whole house to do it's duty. With the scanner and copier, you can scan documents that are crystal clear. It comes with software to program everything, and the controls are easy and practical with everything being self-taught. It has the Kodak Perfect Touch technology so there are no flaws! The resolution is 2400 X 4800 dpi for gorgeous results!
It can copy 10 ~ 500% and it can print two sided documents for important meetings, or newsletters. It can easily run 99 copies at a time. You can pre-program your settings and runs with systems such as ~ WINDOWS XP ~ WINDOWS VISTA ~ CELERON 1.2GHz ~ PENTIUM 4 - 3GHz and if you have a Mac, it runs with OS 10.4.8 or higher system. Also, you will need about 128 MB of RAM, 200 MB of space on your hard disk drive if using your computer. It does have a cd-rom drive. To use Bluetooth, you will need the adapter. The memory cards it supports is ~ Compact Flash I & II ~ Microdrive ~ xD Picture Card ~ Memory Stick ~ Memory Stick Pro ~ Secure Digital and MultiMediaCard. Everything is at your fingertips with easy to use buttons ~ start - cancel - Menu - rotate - Zoom+ and Zoom- - proofsheet transfer - copy - photo, to choose from and have multiple options.
Across the border, it does not lack in quality or speed, it has options that no other all-in-one has, the ink saving is by far the best feature, and makes it stand out as one of a kind! This is a good size, it doesn't take up too much room, only weighs about 21 pounds. As far as innovation goes, it is light years ahead of it's time. It has set the standard, and I love the way my photos have come out. It doesn't even look like a home office print when it comes out, it looks professional. You will not need anything else after having the Kodak Easyshare 5300!
I have had so much fun printing my greeting cards of family photos, creating gag gifts, resumes, creating homemade books for my kids off the internet, and copying important documents with smudgeless perfection! This is nothing short of glory!
