Good flash, no competition

This flash works pretty much as I expected on my P712 and P880. It provides pleasing results bounced off the cieling and using the built-in flash for fill. Versatile and provides excellent strength and coverage. Slow to recycle with alkalines, and it only uses two. They don't last very long. NiMH rechargeables are a must. I wish that it pivoted. It's compact but looks serious.

I wish that Kodak's dedication was the same as a major SLR so that there would be some competition. By that, I mean that if they had made the hot shoe on the P series cameras the same as a major brand of SLR.  That way, P-series camera users could choose from several models of flash, rather than just the P20.  The P20 is a little expensive for what it is.  It used to cost as much as $150, which is similar to larger units for Canon and Nikon cameras from third parties like Sunpak.  The P-series cameras are discontinued and the P20 won't be around much longer, so prices have recently fallen.
Overall, the P20 is a good choice for P series Kodak camera users.  They don't have any other option for a dedicated flash.
