Author's Review
So, I was in the market for some new headphones, not for myself, but my 3 year old. The ones on her Spongebob CD player had a speaker go out, and she would not listen with those with one speaker out. So, on a regular trip to Wal-Mart I picked up a pair of Koss headphones, Model number UR5 for a mere $4.96. The headphones also came with an extra pair of foam covers, which may come in handy eventually.
My main reasoning about buying these was that they were the only ones that werent $30 that went over the ear rather than in the ear, or ear buds. Being 3, I dont think she would get the point of ear buds. Plus, for the bargain price of just under $5, if something should accidentally happen to them, it wouldnt be a big loss. Also, these were the only ones small enough that would come anywhere close to fitting her head. They are a little big, but not so big that the phones part is hanging down to her chin- they dont miss her ears by much.
Anyway, these headphones are silver, and they have black foam pads. The headband part is black, as well as the writing on the silver part of them. They have a nice 4ft. long cord, and an L shaped jack that fits into the headphones hole on my kids CD player. I like L shaped plugs better, because they seem to come out of the jack a whole lot less than straight plugs do.
Heres a little info from Koss.com about these:

Experience:
Well, these are pretty lightweight, are adjustable by pulling down on the speaker part, and they are stylish (but they dont exactly match a yellow Spongebob CD player). I figured for under $5 the sound would be kind of junky, but I listened to them for a while, and it has a pretty good amount of bass on them, and the music didnt sound like it was far off or singing in a toilet like other cheap headphones out there.
I also like that this came with such a long cord, that gives a little more moving around room- they are way longer than the original headphones that came with the CD player. My kid can be a good ways away from her CD player and not pull it over onto the floor. Also, like I mentioned before, I like that these have an L shaped jack, they dont seem to get jerked out of the headphones slot as easy.
The only complaint I would have would be that the pads on the headphones are a little scratchy- other than that- Id say these were a great cheap set of headphones.
