Excellent picture and very good value overall

Excellent picture and you can't beat the price for what you get. Numerous inputs.
Cons:
Image persistence during dark scenes briefly after a bright scene. Black levels could be deeper.

Compared to the competition, the price was the final deciding point for my purchase. The setup is very easy, with excellent array of inputs. Be sure to have help setting it up, as it weighs nearly 200 pounds.
The onscreen menu display is intuitive and easy to use. It allows for good fine picture adjustments. I found that using Video Essentials DVD helped me to optimize the picture compared to the factory settings.
The picture quality is excellent for standard and high definition DVD, except for two things - 1. a persistence of image is noted in dark scenes very briefly, immediately after a bright scene; 2. black levels are not quite as deep as it is with the Pioneer Kuro. Check out the review in Consumer Reports, March, 2008.
Audio is decent, but does not do justice to the video. Wish list: While the remote is easy to use, I wish it was a universal learning remote so I could use it with non-LG devices. Backlit buttons would be helpful, too. Also, I would like to be able to have separate picture settings for each video source.
I have had the system less than one month, so cannot comment on reliability. For the price, I am very pleased.
