Product Review

A good match for the 2277 washer.

Pros:  Does what it's supposed to do.

Cons:  Price may be a factor for some.

Overall Rating: 5/5 stars

Author's Review

There's not a whole lot to say about dryers. I will say the picture here on the site is incorrect. The DLG5988W has the front-mounted controls (like the 2277HW washer, so they can be stacked.

At any rate, it's got 9 cycles and 6 heat settings. I like the fact that the drying is done now before the wash is finished, though I suspect that's partially due to the washer's spin cycle, but still, it's quick. In addition, the controls are so simple, the manual is nearly unnecessary.

Update 03/09/05-Saturday I threw a load in and the dryer started making all sorts of noise. I shut it off and called Best Buy's service department. They sent a tech out today who was very surprised that there was a problem, because dryers generally don't break (there's nothing to them), and because his experience with LG products is that they're relatively trouble-free. He seemed to think I got a lemon and wrote it up as unrepairable. To Best Buy's credit, I called the local store and explained that my 6-week-old dryer just crapped out on me, they were very apologetic and are sending a replacement out tomorrow. That's impressive.
