For some the window kit istallation may be tough. Its a window kid model .

I bought the 8,000 BTU LG A/C in the spring of 2002 it is spring of 2009 and she still is working like a charm. I have no complaints here. This Air Conditioner is a freezer! And that is what I want. An A/C that cools and this Air Conditioner does just that. it has a lowest setting of 60 degrees which I especially liked. It has a remote control and an LCD setting and indoor temperature display. The controls are very simple to use.. (Power on/off temp up/down) this air conditioner also has a 12 hour timer built in to it that allows you to, if you choose to use the timer, you can set the timer to either have the A/C turn itself on, or turn itself off. I have heard a lot of people talking about the installation. Ok here is my input. This A/C is a WINDOW KIT model.. this means you put a shell in your window first then slide the Air Conditioner into the shell. My advice is if you don't know how to use a screwgun then maybe you might want to call someone that does.. What I did was I screwed the entire shell frame into the window frame this way I didn't need further supports. Once that is done the A/C slips into the shell frame. I don't suggest taking the A/C out of the window. The nice thing about the window kit is the Air Conditioner will never ever have a chance of falling out of the window, which makes the unit totally safe. In all I find it to be the best Air Conditioner I have ever owned. I have no complaints about it and I am very happy with it.
