Author's Review

I bought this refrigerator at Best Buy and took delivery of it 09/29/2007. Yes 6 weeks ago. All of a sudden I smelled a plastic burning smell turns out my refrigerator died on me. Happened on a Friday night and none of the service rep companies that LG gave me to call were open on the weekends. So I waited untill Monday called one of them to come out on Tuesday took the day off. Ofcourse when they came out they did not have the piece in stock to fix it. They are going to have to order it. Not only that when ever they do come out they are not sure if they will have to replace the compressor as well. They will not order it untill they are sure. So naturally I wrote LG below I have pasted the e-mail corospence. I am sure you will be as shocked as I am with the kind of customer service, that's a Laugh I got. I recomend you avoid not only this model but anything of thiers! Word to the wise.

Nice response is this what LG considers customer service? THe service man has been out and left, today. They do not have the part and will have to order it. Not only that but when he gets the part there is a possability he will have to order a compressor as well. And ofcourse that means an additional 2 days I have to take off work for an 800.00 piece of crap! And your idea of customer service is this e-mail? Not even a simple apologey? Well I will copy this email response along with my first email onto epinions.com. And certainly will share it with consumers affairs, better business burea and as many other places I can find. Certainly everyone will know which company not to buy from. Remember truth is not slander!

I am shocked and to say the least very disappointed in your product. in just 6 weeks my refrigerator needs to be fixed. Best Buy where I bought it through even had to special order it so you can't claim it was an old refrigerator floor model. Six weeks! That means the store warrenty is over with. Yes it is still under factory warrenty but now I had to take the day off and lose an entire day's pay. Not to mention the food I lost over the weekend, since none of your service companies are not open over the weekend. There is absolutly no excuse to have built a refrigerator so bad that it gives up after 6 weeks. My old refrigerator was made back in 1987 was still working. My wife wanted a new one, and we picked LG. How do you plan on making up for this? Or should I report this to the better business Bureue and leave negative feedback about LG on such sites as e-pinions? It's up to you but you should do something to make up for this horrable inconvience to say the least.
