Could not ask for more!

We recently installed new granite countertops in our kitchen and decided it was time to upgrade the appliances. Our range was a low-end, 10 year old Frigidaire that we knew wouldn't last forever so the search began.

I looked for quite a while and nothing I saw really impressed me. I checked out all the major brands and just thought I'd stick with what I already had since it was still working just fine and although new ones were nice, nothing was 'buy-worthy'.

What I wanted was a 5-burner, free-standing, 30" gas range... in stainless steel. Didn't seem like a tough find but like I said, nothing impressed me.

While in Home Depot looking at LG's Steamwasher and Dryer, my husband happened to notice the LG LRG30355 Gas range. I came over, took a look and saw it had everything I was looking for PLUS a warming drawer... and it was one super stylish range. The price ($1399) was quite a bit more than I wanted to pay especially since it was a pretty hefty premium for stainless steel.

The range was delivered earlier this month and we couldn't be more pleased with it. The very first night we made Chicken Parmigiana which tested out most of the cooking features... boiled pasta on the 16,500 BTU high output burner with Super Boil™ setting... heated the sauce on the 700 BTU simmer burner... fried the chicken breasts on the regular burner... baked the completed dish in the oven... toasted the garlic bread under the broiler... and then kept my son's portion warm in the warming drawer.

Everything turned out beautifully... couldn't ask for more!

The display is very large and easy to read, from virtually any angle even from across the kitchen. I love how the pre-heat function displays the temperature as it heats. The continuous, cast-iron grates are both convenient (ever try to pick up a heavy, filled stock pot and transfer it to a different burner??) and functional (the cast-iron radiates heat nicely). The 5.0 cu.ft. oven is large and well lit... the light comes on when you open the door or you can push the button and check on your items inside without ever opening the door. The warming drawer has three levels and is a great feature when you need to hold cooked items while others are still cooking (I imagine I'll LOVE THIS come time for holiday dinners!) or keeping meals warm for family members who are delayed for dinner or on a separate schedule entirely.

We're extremely pleased with this gas range as it has exceeded our expectations in every way. We are more than happy with our choice and look forward to many years of use.
