Our old whirlpool washer and dryer set bit the dust. Since we knew the old set was on it's "last leg", we began researching on consumer reports and epinions. We then progressed to shopping for washer and dryers in retail stores.
We really liked the fact that this set felt very well built, from the sturdy doors to the stainless steel tubs in both the washer and dryer and was in our price range. No matter what, when you begin looking at front loading machines, you will find the price range higher than on the standard top loaders. For us, the water savings and energy savings should offset the cost difference in approximately a year (or a little more).
We appreciate the aesthetic appeal of the machine. The time indicator in minutes is nice also. The displays on the machine are easily read and bright so there isn't confusion about anything. Also like the sanitary cycle option, which takes longer, is a nice thing to have, especially when someone in the household is sick. Clothes, sheets, pillow cases, towels etc. you have the option to sanitary cycle and make sure you do your best to rid the items of those germs. Yes, the dryer with it's heat may do the same thing, but we like the extra peace of mind.
When the machine was delivered, the installation people "eyeball" leveled the machine. We have since leveled it making sure it's level on all angles. I would recommend this for several reasons. One is the reduction of vibration even on solid floor surfaces, another reason is the water in the tub not settle in the door gaskets nearly as much.
We will update our epinons feedback as time passes or if we have something negative that is serious.
Would definitely recommend this machine.
