This washer's WONDERFUL!!!
Pros:
Range of features; Energy star; 1/2 water & detergents; QUIET!
Cons:
Price.
The Bottom Line:
Some may find the longer times on the cycles a bit of a hassle. But, we bought the machine to CLEAN clothes, it completely satisfies our requirements! Buy it!

Our Lady Kenmore set of nearly 15 years bit the dust, so our task to find replacements began. We did our research - online, asking friends and family, visiting the nearest appliance store. We were impressed that LG washers have direct drive, are energy star rated, use less water, and require less detergents (Since we have our own water supply and waste water systems, this was a BIG consideration!). We considered the high end of LG washers & dryers - the steam set - but we're a ranching family, not into jobs that require a wardrobe full of suits, etc. We settled on this model, it has a Sanitary cycle in addition to Normal, Perma-Press, Delicates, Handwash, and Speed cycles. The price seemed high when we were paying for it; however, it was well within the range of similar Maytags, etc. models. We also paid the extra charge for delivery - and are thankful we did so, as our washer & dryer is housed in the basement.
The delivery men took extra special care in making sure that the pedalstel was level. As soon as we could, we ran the first load, really dirty jeans - 5 pair - and shirts (it's branding season here). We selected 'Normal' cycle, with 'High' spin speed, and 'High' soil setting. Everything came out SUPER clean and fresh! In our Lady Kenmore we would have had to divide the load, and then run both loads through twice!! The LG was quiet, so much so we stood and watched it go through much of the cycle - even our housecat sat down and watched the 'show'!
We are extremely happy with our LG - we've been back to the appliance store and told the salesman the same! We would (and have) highly recommend this washing machine!
