one step beyond

Not to much has changed from the M6 I owned before this one. Basically the same body and with that the same film back problem that requires complete removal to change film. Oh yes, this one is much more expensive. So if the Leica SLR can manage a perfect swing back how come the newest M series camera cannot? For the money you are better off buying a digital camera, no shutter sound and 100% framing accuracy with a LCD veiwer, and far many shots with a 1 Gig drive. Yes, Leica optics are very good but limitations in the film and reproduction, hand holding at slow shutter speeds and moving subjects take that advantage away, not to mention the system cost (sky high). Bottom line if money is no object and your subjects can be photographed under ideal conditions and you are really that good of a photographer then I can recommend the M7 for you, otherwise not. This camera will not turn you into a professional or a better photographer it is just an expensive tool with certain good an bad points.
