Don't Go Near This Printer

I bought this printer to replace an old HP. I searched reviews and picked this one because it was given high marks by several reviews. In a word, this machine is pathetic. About every third or fourth page it hangs up with a paper jam. With a 20 page document you can be assured that one or more pages will come out uneven with creases from top to bottom. The color quality is inexcusably bad, despite working assiduously to find the right adjustments in a fairly complex menu. One especially fun aspect of the machine is its inability to print a colored font without giving it a shadow, even when the originating program, like PowerPoint, doesn't specify it. Thanks, Lexmark. Based on this experience, I'm scrapping this piece of ____ after little more than a month of fun with it and returning to HP. A $400 lesson in not trusting reviews.
