Smooth, reliable and handles like a sedan

Our 2002 RX-300 AWD has 45,000 miles on it and still drives like a new car. Our previous vehicle was a Ford Explorer and the Lexus is totally superior in every way. Ride quality is excellent and the suspension really smoothes out the bumps Steering is responsive and accurate and the car is a joy to drive. Seats are very comfortable and supportive and long drives are much less fatiguing in this car. The Lexus has good acceleration and is easy to maneuver due to its modest size.
My only complaint is the roof rack seems to create a loud resonance that can be heard inside the car. I mentioned this to the service manager and he heard the same complaint from several other RX-300 owners.
Overall the car has been completely reliable and we would definitely buy this car again.
Our RX-300 has all wheel drive which is important when winter arrives. I put four snow tires on the car every December and then I do not have to worry about making it home when it is snowing. We have the optional seat heaters on the front seats and this is a great option. I highly recommend seat heaters to anyone that lives in a climate where it drops below 40-degrees.
Finally the Lexus audio system is great. FM stereo reception is very good and the speakers are high quality.
The Lexus standard audio system is as good or better than competitors optional "audiophile" sound systems that often cost an additional $600 to $800.
