Not so bad

It amazes me how many negative reviews there are about this device. It is true that it is an inexpensive device and there are better ones out there, but I have not experience many of the problems that people are complaining about. It is possible that Logitech has corrected many of these issues, or the machines that they are use in are the problems themselves.
My experience: The cord is plenty long enough, provided you are sitting in front of your pc, and not across the room.
The response rate of the controller is very good. I have never missed a hit or had it not respond to my games.
Most of the newer games that are out there automatically recognize the device, so you are plug and play, no time sitting there “configuring” the controller for a specific game.
The directional pad is rarely used in any games, so I cannot say with certainty if it is a problem or not.
The thumb sticks work perfectly for the emulators and the made for pc games that I have tried.
Not having force feedback is a bit of a bummer, but they do not advertise that it comes with it either.
All in all, this device has given me very positive results. Just remember to update all your drivers on your machine, because the cd they give you is almost always out of date.
