The Logitch WingMan Thunderpad is fair....

Date of Review: Jan 6, 2000

The Thunderpad is relatively inexpensive. I purchased mine for about $15. With such a low price, it's quality isn't anything to be surprised about. The buttons are a bit sticky, and there is also a lack of them. Two more buttons on the top of the Thunderpad would be appreciated. It also has a flimsy feel to it and look to it. Also, the design and color scheme is a bit ugly, if you really care about a gamepad's looks. The biggest problem with the gamepad is the stickyness of specifically the directional pad. Sometimes it seems as if the game pad only wants to go in four different directions; up, down, left, and right. The only positive aspect of this gamepad is that it is compatible with most games, unfortunately unlike many other gamepads. I'd recommend getting a Microsoft Sidewinder if you're the market for a good game pad. If you don't feel like spending the $35, maybe take a look at some of Logitech's other models. Although, based on the feel of the Thunderpad, its other products are already looking bad in my eyes.
