Oh the madness!

Okay, so the madness is not all that impressive. As a matter of fact the plot was interesting but less than stellar. Intended to take a look at the role of the media in influencing people's choices and the law itself this movie is not all that impressive.

The movie centers around Sam (John Travolta) taking a museum hostage (with some school children and a few adults) and Max (Dustin Hoffman) influencing Sam's choices while reporting it to the public. Max starts off the movie manipulating Sam, and the police, to make the story as good as he can. What happens from here is for you to see if you choose to sit through this.

While I admit that both Travolta and Hoffman did a great job with the acting, and the plot was pretty good in the general, there were problems. For one thing I found the movie to be extremely predictable. While it was interesting to watch for a while it didn't pull me into the story very much. Because of the predictability of the movie neither I or the people I watched it with could really get into the movie. It was a good movie, but it was less than spectacular.
