The Bottom Line:

A chance to have fun and enjoy a collection of Abba songs. Meryl Streep is great but the rest of the movie is a bomb.

Review: Take the greatest hits of one of the catchiest power pop combos of all-time, string them together to make a story, add a couple of Hollywood stars, and What D ya Know? You Got a Show. Such is the flimsy premise for the 2008 release of Mamma Mia!...

The Bottom Line: They made an excellent movie from a wonderful play. (It made appromimately $570 million at the boxoffice.) It loses a little luster on DVD but is still definitely worth getting.
Review: I am a BIG ABBA fan, (and yes, I am a straight male who will be 47 in March...) I grew up with them in the seventies. Some people call their music "Bubble Gum" music. I call it "feel good" music. If their music was so bad, then why were they offered...

The Bottom Line: Hate me if you want, but I was bopping along to this the whole way through and have no problem recommending it to either musical fans or ABBA fans.
