Maytag Neptune™ MAH6500A Front Load Washer

If your considering a Maytag Neptune front-loading washer, DON'T, STOP, CAUTION, ALERT!!!

We purchased a MayTag Neptune washer and have had nothing but TROUBLE. (The problems that I have been having are not an isolated event, they are inherent in all Maytag Neptune Washers) It started with our clothes smelling like mildew and Maytag's solution was to regularly run dishwasher soap in the washer to control the problem. (Keep in mind that the washer is marketed as energy and water resistant. When you have to run the washer 1x/month empty with dishwasher soap -- the energy savings go out the window...)Then, we experienced a circuit board failure, which rendered the machine useless. I had originally paid $1,199 for this washer, it was not cheap...

We filed a claim in the class-action lawsuit in January 2005 and called the customer service people today (9/19/05) to notify them of the latest failure of the washer. After being transferred to 4 different "customer service" representatives and being on the phone for 55 minutes, I was told that they could not help me, and that all their Maytag Neptune washer claims services had been transferred over to a 3rd party claims administrator. They told me that if I hear from them, I may get a check, but there is no way that I can contact them, nor verify whether they had received my claim form. The representative stated that they have no contact with any of the 3rd party claims representatives, nor were they willing to transfer the call to any other person that was a Sr. Customer Service Representative. I told the customer service representative that I am extremely dissatisfied with the way they treat their customer AFTER acknowledging through the suit that they had liability. I added, that I would be sure to let others know the experience that I had with a Maytag product and he said "Go ahead....

I, normally don't take the time to post a review, but I feel compelled to let others know that the company doesn't care about you and that everything you may have heard about Maytag washers being bulletproof, is long gone. Don't let this company "sting" you as they have to many of their most loyal customers. After doing alot of research, I would strongly recommend another manufacturer.
