Maytag MDB8951AWS

On June 19,2006 after much deliberation we purchased this dishwasher for $1300. I found it did everything and some. The other day we noticed that when is starts up it makes a very loud grinding sound. The noise does go away after about 15 minutes. After calling a Maytag store to get the phone number of a repair person I was told that it needed a new motor and the bottom line would be about $450.00.
I contacted Maytag to see if there is anything they can do to help me out, and expressed my disappointment of the motor failing in less than 2 years. First I was told that the repair person was NO LONGER approved by Whirlpool (cost was $56.), and would have to get one of their certified repairman at a cost of approx $75( to see what was wrong with it before they would consider any action. The lady (not really) that I spoke to talked to me as if I was 2,and every time I wanted to say something she just kept on talking. When she realized that I kept cutting her off, she finally said "well I'll let you go now" What she meant was get off the phone lady I've had enough
Bottom line I would never purchase Maytag again.
