Product Review

The Nightmare on Sears St.

by   figment_86 ,   Feb 5, 2008

Pros:  Looks sleek. Washes perfectly clean when working! Like all the cycle options.

Cons:  Doesn't spin out single items. Fails to work properly on concrete blocks.

Overall Rating: 2/5 stars

Author's Review

My husband and I purchased this as our first washer and what a nightmare it has been. It worked wonderfully for the 1st 6 months, then had to have the mother board replaced. Worked well for another 2 months, then stopped wringing the clothes out. Had to then have the computer replaced, as well as the mother board. Then it stopped draining completely, thus not spinning out. Had to repair it again for similar problems. Spent over $900 in repairs and since it was purchased through Sears, we had to go through their service center each time, which is a joke. Did not do single items (such as a winter coat or a pair of shoes) well, as it was too unbalanced to wring out. However, on the plus side. When it DID work, it worked great. My clothes were sparkling clean and had very short dry time. I liked the rapid wash cycle for washing my daughter's blankie quickly. Front load is the way to go if you can afford it, just not this model.
