2001 Mazda Protege ES 2.0

Pros: Great Handling, sporty look, easy on fuel, enough leg room

Cons: needs horse power thats about it.

The Bottom Line: Highly recommended. Great looking, sporty, good sound, nice radio, great handling. Good economical, cheap car.

2001 Mazda Protege ES 2.0, Black Mica, 5spd, Power windows & locks. This is one of the best economy cars out there. I test drove all the competitors. This one had more bells and whistles for the money and just looked better. Before I bought this vehicle I owned a 1993 Mazda Protege and that I never had one problem with, so that helped solidify the fact that Mazda makes a good product. Another reason I bought this vehicle is, all the other cars in this class were new body styles, and were having recall issues. I have never had an issue with this car or my 1993. The reason this car does so well is that the engine that is in this car is from the Mazda 626 and they have been using this engine for about 15 years so you know they have worked out any problems that this engine might have.
