XP Is Better

I have been a Windows user for years. The complaint that I hear everywhere I go now is about how people love Windows XP, especially with all the latest updates. However, most people that I meet are absolutely sick of Windows Vista. After being a Vista user for about one year, I can completely relate.

You would be better off using a Linux distro such as Ubutu (which is 100% free and open source), as opposed to whipping out $150 for this product.

First off, Windows has issues in general. Security issues. Viruses, and so forth. While Vista is an attempt by Microsoft to address some of the vulnerabilities and shortcomings of the Windows operating system. At times they fall short of making any improvement what so ever over XP. At other times, Microsoft simply fails miserably.

Vista uses a lot of computer resources. I have 4 GB of RAM in my computer, yet Vista still constantly has memory related problems. While Vista attempts to give the user more control when it comes to security. For example, you must approve every major change to the system. But unlike Linux which has a "superuser", Windows Vista simply pops up annoying dialogues.

Finally, it's a pain that Microsoft bundles this software on new computers. Consumers should really have more options.
